Meet Danelle
I feel as though I have been story-telling for as long as I can remember. My creative journey began at an old Dell desktop next to my childhood living-room window and it was there that I felt endlessly inspired to journal, write poetry, and even compose a handful of Microsoft Word novellas. When I wasn’t tapping away at a computer keyboard, I was at the keys of my parents' piano because alongside writing, music was also a medium that allowed me to express stories and emotions where words often fell short.
Throughout my English Literature degree, my love for expressing emotion through writing and music quickly became interwoven with my love for photography and the power of perspective. I distinctly remember holding my mom’s Sony cyber-shot for the first time and becoming completely enamored with the newfound creative freedom I found through the lens.
As an introvert at-heart, I am naturally inclined towards observation and as a highly-sensitive soul, I am deeply attuned to the emotional states of others (a truly double-edged sword). I am in love with storytelling as a form of self-expression, infused with the unique eye of the artist, as well as its ability to preserve real moments in real-time. I am fascinated by the idea of "nostalgia-in-progress" and that our present day-to-day moments, whether massive or miniscule, are the makings of big memories and earnest remembrances for years to come.
I like to believe that my study of prose and classical music as well as my orientation to detail continues to inform the way I take photos and tell real-life human stories today. I would love nothing more than to get a glimpse at what matters most to you, right now, and document that through photos that are inspired by fleeting moments, unfiltered emotion, and the ever-magical dance of light.
